SLEEP TIGHT builds upon every preceding scene sturdily enough to suggest that librettist-lyricist Sauter could pursue an alternate career as an architect if he so chose.
Leschen and Sauter succeed in producing a refreshingly hummable and sturdily crafted score – a rarity in the contemporary pop/rock canon.
This is all way over-the-top but it works because of Fred Sauter’s excellent book and lyrics as well as Paul Leschen’s catchy music (16 hard-rockin’ songs). The brainchild of both artists, this show is original as it gets.
A theatrical blast of fresh air… The sci-fi slapstick tradition of “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Rocky Horror Show” is alive and well and, now, six-legged.
